On the 15th, Spokesperson Lin Jian of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosted a regular press conference. A reporter asked a question regarding China’s announcement of a visa waiver policy for five countries, including Brazil, during the Fourth Ministerial Meeting of the China-Latin America Forum.
In response, Lin Jian stated that in order to further facilitate the exchanges between Chinese and foreign personnel, China has decided to expand the scope of countries eligible for the visa waiver. From June 1, 2025, to May 31, 2026, a visa waiver policy will be implemented for ordinary passport holders from Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru, and Uruguay. Personnel from the above five countries holding ordinary passports who come to China for business, tourism, visiting relatives and friends, exchange visits, or transit for no more than 30 days can enter China without a visa.
Lin Jian pointed out that China will adhere to high-level opening up to the outside world, introduce more measures, and continuously improve the level of facilitation for the exchanges between Chinese and foreign personnel. We also welcome more foreign friends to make good use of the visa waiver and visa facilitation policies for coming to China, visit China, and experience the colorful, enthusiastic, and vibrant China.
