According to Maoyan platform data, as of 12:00 on February 6, this year’s Spring Festival film “Ne Zha” (hereinafter referred to as “Ne Zha 2”) box office has reached 5.78 billion yuan, surpassing “Changjin Lake” and becoming the box office champion of Chinese film history.

Ne Zha 2 was released on the first day of the Chinese New Year on January 29, 2025. After its release, the reputation continued to ferment and the box office continued to rise. By 0:00 on February 6, the box office of Ne Zha 2 broke through 5 billion yuan in just 6 days and 19:00.
Previously, the box office champion of our country’s film history was “The Battle at Lake Changjin” released during the National Day holiday on September 30, 2021. The final box office of the film was 5.775 billion yuan, and “Ne Zha 2” broke the record in less than 9 days. Currently, the box office of “Ne Zha 2” is still rising rapidly. The AI predictions of the two major platforms, Lighthouse and Maoyan, predict that the latest box office of the film will exceed 9.40 billion yuan, and it is expected to continue to break the domestic box office champion and record.
Besides the box office, it is highly anticipated whether “Ne Zha 2” can break the record of the number of viewers in domestic film history. Currently, the record of the number of viewers for domestic films (only counting films since 2014) is held by “Wolf Warrior 2” released on July 27, 2017, which is 160 million.

The producer of “Ne Zha 2”, Enlight Media, announced on the evening of February 5th that the film “Ne Zha” produced and published by the company and its subsidiaries has been released in the Chinese mainland since January 29th, 2025. According to data from the National Film Fund, as of 24:00 on February 4th, 2025, the film has been released in the Chinese mainland for 7 days, with a cumulative box office revenue (including service fees) of about 4.84 billion yuan, exceeding 50% of the company’s latest audited consolidated financial statements.
As of February 4, 2025, the company’s operating income from the film ranges from about 950 million yuan to 1.01 billion yuan. At present, the film is being screened, and the final box office revenue in the Chinese mainland region is subject to the settlement statement officially confirmed by the film theaters in the Chinese mainland region.
Enlight Media stated that the film’s copyright sales revenue in the Chinese mainland and overseas publishing revenue have not yet been settled. There may be differences between the film’s box office revenue and the company’s actual recognizable revenue (including but not limited to the revenue and other revenue calculated based on the confirmed box office revenue and corresponding revenue sharing methods after the film is released in theaters and cinemas).
On February 5th, the stock price of Enlight Media hit the limit up by 20%, and as of the close, more than 140,000 orders were sealed. On February 6th, the stock price of Enlight Media rose again by more than 14%.
